Giveon Collects Three New Certifications From RIAA
R&B sensation Givēon has gained three new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
His current radio single, “For Tonight,” which peaked at No. 11 at Billboard Adult R&B, is now certified gold with more than 500,000 equivalent units sold.
At the time of this story, the track, produced by Seven Thomas, Jahaan Sweet, and Akeel Henry, has surpassed streams of 78.9 million on Spotify.
Another gold honor was bestowed to “The Beach,” lifted from his acclaimed EP, Take Time.
Additionally, Givēon gained his second solo multi-platinum certification and third overall for “Like I Want You,” his breakthrough single.
As a result, RIAA now recognizes it as a double-platinum success, signifying sales of over two million equivalent units sold.
To this career point, Givēon has seen nine releases that he’s either guested or starred alone secured some level of certification status.
His most recent before this latest trio was “Heartbreak Anniversary,” advancing to triple platinum in January.
Givēon is the most nominated R&B artist at the upcoming iHeartRadio Music Awards with seven total. Most of them are dedicated to his work with Justin Bieber and Daniel Caesar for their chart-topping single “Peaches.”
Speaking of his “Peaches” collaboration, it’s nominated for multiple awards at the 2022 Grammys. Because he’s a featured artist on Bieber’s Justice album, Givēon scored a nod for Album of the Year.
Givēon also is up for Best R&B Song for “Heartbreak Anniversary.” That song peaked atop urban radio last summer.
