The Game is stepping up to support those impacted by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. With flames tearing through parts of the city, the Compton rapper announced on Wednesday, January 8th, that he’s offering safety and shelter to families forced to evacuate their homes.

“Me & [talent manager Travis Wilson] are helping 10 families effected [sic] by the fires here get into @airbnb for a week free of charge [praying hands emoji],” he shared on Instagram Stories. He encouraged those in need to contact Wilson directly on Instagram, adding, “Must have an identification or drivers license with address in the affected areas.”

The wildfires, which erupted on Tuesday, January 7th, have been fueled by strong winds and dry conditions, causing widespread destruction. At least five people have lost their lives, while over 100,000 residents have been displaced. More than 2,000 structures have been destroyed across 27,000 acres, making this one of the most destructive wildfire events in Los Angeles history. Officials estimate damages could exceed $50 billion.

Emergency services are stretched thin as they battle to contain the flames, with water supplies running low. By Thursday morning (January 9), five major fires remained uncontained, including a new blaze in the Hollywood Hills that began the previous evening.

Other celebrities have also reacted to the crisis. Snoop Dogg shared a message on Instagram, urging followers to “Pray for Los Angeles. Lord, deliver the City of Angels.” Missy Elliott expressed her heartbreak, writing on her Instagram Stories, “My prayers go out to those in LA. Seeing the videos and pictures are devastating, so you can only imagine those people who are going through it. So many prayers through such a difficult time.”
