Tegan & Sara's Tour Dates For 2020: See Them Here
In an email to fans, the band acknowledged ongoing fears related to the coronavirus, but are staying positive as the growing pandemic unfolds.
Tegan and Sara are hitting the road! On Wednesday (March 11), the Canadian duo announced they’ll be heading out on a North American headlining tour this summer to promote their latest album, Hey, I’m Just Like You.
The 40-date run will kick off May 18 at The Knitting Factory Concert House in Spokane, Wash., with the first leg wrapping June 6 at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre. The tour’s second leg then picks up July 30 and runs through Sept. 2 with stops in major cities like Portland, New York City, Dallas and Philadelphia. Openers for the jaunt include rising artists Georgia, Jackie Mendoza, Ider and Claud.
In an email to fans, the band acknowledged ongoing fears related to the coronavirus, but are staying positive as the growing pandemic unfolds. “We are proceeding optimistically with our planning but acknowledge that we will watch the developing situation with COVID-19 closely and heed all recommendations about social gatherings as the tour approaches,” they said.
Released in Sept. 2019, Hey, I’m Just Like You was inspired by a box of demos the sisters had written as teenagers, and found while working on their recent dual memoir High School. The album spawned three singles including “I’ll Be Back Someday,” “Don’t Believe the Things They Tell You (They Lie)” and the title track.
