Phony Ppl Announce ‘Nowhere But Up Tour’ Dates

Phony Ppl is hitting the road ahead of their forthcoming album. The Nowhere But Up Tour itinerary takes the five-man collective across North America this fall, kicking off in Boston on October 20 at the Brighton Music Hall. 

Along the road, the hipsters will play shows in Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, and Toronto, before ending things in New York on November 24 at Irving Plaza.   

They’ll be joined by Alex Mali, whose latest songs “Addicted” and â€œIn Your Arms” are out now. She also released her Phenom EP last year.

Last year in November, Phony Ppl shared the new song â€œOn My Shit” featuring Joey Bada$$. It arrived with a wondrous music video. It followed their first-ever top 10 hit “Fkn Around” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. 

Rated R&B spoke exclusively with Phony Ppl last spring about the success of their breakout hit and the direction of their next album, which is the follow-up to mō’zā-ik. 

“I know jumping into this project one thing that we definitely wanted to zero in on was more movement from top to bottom,” percussionist Maffyuu said to Rated R&B. “Not all the tracks are going to be just straight fall on the floor and shake your butt stuff, but we wanted to definitely tap into the more groovy side that we all possess. We’ve been creating songs with that in mind to get the people moving and to balance the catalog out.”
