Big Steilo’s unfiltered music tells his story, raw and unfiltered, never straining for effect or embellishing it with fantasy. As a rapper hailing from St Louis, he has seen and witnessed many tough situations during years, and today imagines new fusions of seemingly far-apart urban sub-genres to translate these experiences into a fantastic sound. His two latest releases, “Critical,” and “Trenches,” are vividly powerful and yet distinct. “Critical” sees the prowess of introspection over a groovy slow-paced track that ideally highlights the rapper’s soulful flow. “Trenches” is a bit more aggressive and dynamic in its structure, and showcases Big Steilo speeding-up to the tempo and raising the BPM to a fun level.
