6LACK has confirmed his third album is on the way. The Grammy-nominated singer announced the news on social media on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 21).

The post features a short video of an Outfront Media-produced billboard advertisement in Atlanta, Georgia, with purple and red text that reads “6ACK,” pronounced back.

It also includes “March 2023,” signaling the album will release next month, and the hashtag #SIHAL, which hints at a five-word album title.

6LACK’s album announcement comes with a pre-order link on his official website that leads to the official store of his record label LVRN/Interscope.

According to Interscope, the “official album cover and release date to be announced soon.”

By pre-ordering the untitled album, priced at $10, fans will receive an instant message from 6LACK via email. This pre-order is limited to one per customer, with digital downloads only available to U.S. customers.

LVRN, the Atlanta-based record label, which recently appointed Bryan-Michael Cox, as its senior vice president of A&R and executive producer, teased on social media a 6LACK-focused announcement last Tuesday (Feb. 14).

6LACK’s untitled album will mark his first album in nearly five years. His sophomore album, East Atlanta Love Letter, arrived in September 2018. The album spawned the focus track “Pretty Little Fears” featuring J. Cole.

The T-Minus and Yakob-produced track debuted at No. 76 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was the only song from East Atlanta Love Letter to chart on this list. It eventually was certified platinum for surpassing one million equivalent U.S. sales.

East Atlanta Love Letter collected 6LACK four other RIAA single sales awards, including the title track, “Nonchalant, “Seasons,” and “Switch.” Each track was certified gold for over 500,000 equivalent units.

The album itself gained a gold RIAA honor in December 2020. Before East Atlanta Love Letter became a certified album, 6LACK’s debut album, 2016’s FREE BLACK, was certified platinum.

6LACK has stayed busy between albums, working with Normani (“Waves“), The Bonfyre (“U Say“), Mereba (“Heatwave“), Alina Baraz (“Morocco“), Khalid (“Retrograde“), Eli Derby (“Lately“), Calvin Harris (“Nothing More To Say“), Kaash Paige (“Miss My Dawgs“), Jessie Reyez (“Forever“) and Jacquees (“Tell Me It’s Over“), among others.

In June 2020, 6LACK issued 6pc Hot EP, including a guest contribution from rapper Lil Baby. He followed with two singles in 2021, “Rent Free” and “By Any Means.” It’s unclear if the two tracks will appear on his forthcoming album.

6LACK also recorded his version of Mos Def’s “UMI Says” for Apple Music’s Juneteenth compilation album last year.

Additionally, 6LACK appeared on LVRN’s Home For The Holidays, Vol. 2. He contributed “Ghetto Christmas” to the holiday compilation, which arrived Nov. 30, 2022.
