TV One’s Uncensored is returning in April with new episodes. Grammy-nominated singer Tevin Campbell kicks off the upcoming season of the autobiographical series on Sunday, April 2, at 10 p.m. ET.

In the hour-long season premiere, Campbell, who had enormous success with his first two albums (T.E.V.I.N., I’m Ready), one of which had the cult classic “Can We Talk,” parts the curtains on finding himself, his legendary career and much more.

Campbell, who hasn’t released an album in over two decades, is currently plotting a comeback.

In a 2021 interview with the State of Black Music podcast, he shared that his former collaborator and music icon Babyface wrote him a new song. He said he was also open to working with Louis York, the duo composed of Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, who co-hosted the podcast.

Subsequent guests for other respective episodes include Marques Houston, Eric Benét, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Meagan Good and Lil Wayne.

As of late, Houston has been head down writing, directing and producing films. His most recent work, Best Friend, a thriller he wrote and co-stars, is available on Tubi.

Houston recently spoke to Rated R&B about how his transition from music to the film world has been fulfilling. “Writing and producing films gives me the opportunity to be creative, tell stories and just sit behind the scenes and not be in the forefront,” Houston shared.

Like Houston, Benét has been dabbing in television and film projects. Last year, he starred in Greed: A Seven Deadly Sins Story as part of Bishop T.D. Jakes’ anthology series on Lifetime.

Most recently, Benét created Snap, a limited series that he premiered this past winter on ALLBLK. He starred in the psychological anthology alongside Tisha Campbell, Amiyah Scott, Clifton Powell and more.

Uncensored debuted in spring 2018, with guests such as Tamar Braxton, Silk and Snoop Dogg. Since then, the series has featured Tyrese, Marsha Ambrosius, Keke Wyatt, Teddy Riley, Keyshia Cole and more.
