Tina Turner to Release Deluxe Edition of ‘Break Every Rule’

58 Music icon Tina Tuner has announced a reissue of her 1986 album, Break Every Rule. The special expanded edition arrives on Nov. 25.
The deluxe premium box set will span a three-disc CD that contains a remastered version of the original 11-song album, plus B-sides, remixes, and live recordings.
The third disc includes additional live audio from her Guinness World Record concert at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro.
There’s also a two-disc DVD that will accompany the updated box set. It includes footage of the iconic performance mentioned above, archival promo videos, now in HD, and an intimate concert taped at Camden Place in London.
Break Every Rule will also be issued on vinyl and expanded into a two-disc CD. The original album will be pressed on 1LP black vinyl with remastered audio. In comparison, the latter offering will contain the contents from the first two CDs from the deluxe package.
Released on Sept. 5, 1986, via Capitol Records, Break Every Rule was the follow-up to Turner’s 1984 critically-acclaimed album, Private Dancer.
The album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 62 during the week of Sept. 27, 1986, and eventually peaked at No. 4 the week of Nov. 8, 1986. It was certified platinum with over one million U.S. sales that same week.
Break Every Rule spawned the hit single “Typical Male,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Turner’s reissue announcement for Break Every Rule comes on the heels of her iconic “What’s Got to Do With It” video look getting reimagined for a Barbie.
Last year, she reissued a special edition of Foreign Affair, her 1989 effort.

In March 2021, Turner partnered with HBO to debut her feature documentary TINA.
Later that fall, beloved actress Angela Bassett, who portrayed Turner in a 1993 biopic, What’s Love Got to Do With It, inducted her into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
