NEWARK, NJ – (WQHT) – The 31st Annual HOT 97 Summer Jam lit up the tri-state this weekend, delivering nonstop energy, major surprises, and unforgettable performances from some of the biggest names in hip hop. Thousands packed into the Prudential Center in Newark for the culture’s most iconic summer concert — and it did not disappoint.

Who’s Next Festival Stage Showed the Future Is Bright

Before doors even opened to the main event, the action kicked off at Mulberry Commons from 3-6 PM with the HOT 97 Who’s Next Festival Stage, shining a spotlight on tomorrow’s stars. Up-and-coming acts like Zeddy Will, Dee Billz, 2Rare, Sturdy Youngin, OhThatsMizz, HoneyBxby, Moliy, and the crowd favorite — 13-year-old phenom JayFlexn, this year’s Who’s Next winner — set the tone early and proved the next generation is already here.

Main Stage Madness: A Lineup Built for the History Books

By 7 PM, the Prudential Center was buzzing as the main stage lit up with a stacked lineup of chart-toppers and legends. A Boogie, Gunna, GloRilla, Muni Long, Asake, and Ayra Starr brought major heat, each delivering electric sets that had the crowd wildin’ all night.

Ja Rule & Friends gave the night one of its most heartfelt moments — a touching tribute to Irv Gotti that had fans feeling the legacy. The energy didn’t let up, with fire performances from Kash Doll, Bobby Konders & Jabba ft. Masicka, Jim Jones & Friends, and the buzzing NY drill squad 41 (Kyle Rich, Jenn Carter, Tata).
