Robin Thicke has revealed his eighth studio album — On Earth, and in Heaven — will release on February 12.

The 43-year-old singer announced the exciting news via a teaser video on Instagram. The promotional clip contains a montage of Thicke’s career highs, including his television performances, being a guest judge on NBC’s The Voice and receiving acclaim for his Billboard Hot 100 single “Blurred Lines,’ to name a few. The video also highlights some low moments in Thicke’s life, including his divorce from Paula Patton, the deaths of his father Alan Thicke and his mentor Andre Harrell, and losing his home in a California wildfire.

“I feel like I’m finally the person I set out to be. I’m able to laugh at anything, which I’ve realized is the greatest superpower. I’ve fully embraced it, and nothing has been better for my soul,” Thicke said in a press release.

He added, “When I saw the phrase On Earth, and in Heaven, I realized that’s what I’m singing about: the people who aren’t here and the people who are here that made me who I am. This music is the sunshine coming out after the rain.”

In December, Thicke released his funk-tinged “Fire It Up” in partnership with the NFL. In May 2020, he released his heartwarming song “Forever Mine.”

On Earth, and in Heaven will follow Thicke’s 2014 album, Paula, which was dedicated to his now ex-wife Paula Patton.
