Rebecca Black's Live At Home Performance: Watch
It may have been Tuesday when Rebecca Black treated fans to a Streets Talkin Live At-Home performance, but she finished things off with her infamous end-of-the-week anthem “Friday.”
“Grab your friends!” she insisted before jumping into the highly requested song on April 14. Nine years later, she fine-tuned the hit with her quarantine-induced guitar skills into an acoustic ballad that didn’t take out any of the “fun, fun, fun, fun” from the original.
While raising money for MusiCares to continue supporting the music community in need during the coronavirus pandemic, Black showed some “L.O.V.E.” with her delicate Nat King Cole cover that reminded fans of the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap. “I feel like we could all use a little reminder that love is what everybody needs. Send a little bit of love to those who need it right now, especially during this time,” the 22-year-old singer said.
She spread a lot of that much-needed love to healthcare workers “for putting their lives on the line for this,” including both of her parents who are veterinarians. “If you are a healthcare worker or have anybody in your family who is in that, I really appreciate it. Please send my love,” Black mentioned.
