Halle Berry’s 18-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, has spoken out to defend her mother against recent child abuse allegations. The controversy stems from a legal filing by Berry’s ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, who is seeking sole custody of their 13-year-old son, Maceo, citing claims of physical abuse. Berry has vehemently denied these accusations, asserting that she is, in fact, a victim of domestic violence.

In a statement regarding the situation, Nahla Aubry wrote, “I never observed anything abusive about her parenting.” She described her mother as a “loving and devoted parent” who is “warm, supportive, and deeply involved,” while noting that Berry maintains appropriate boundaries, stating, “She can be strict when necessary and expects her children to follow rules and be respectful.”

Nahla further addressed the specific nature of the claims, stating, “I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way. And I have never seen my mom place her hands around Maceo’s neck, put him in a chokehold, restrict his breathing, or engage in any conduct remotely resembling the allegations that have been made against her.”

Having lived with her younger brother for most of his life, Nahla provided insight into their family dynamic. She highlighted how Berry consistently coordinated schedules to ensure quality time, attended school events, and advocated for Maceo’s education and medical needs. “She celebrates our successes, supports us through challenges, and is always there when we need her,” Nahla added. “I never doubted my mom’s love for me. She consistently provided me with stability, support, guidance, and unconditional love.”

Currently, Berry is petitioning the court to restore her original custody agreement for Maceo. Her filing seeks to reinstate 50/50 custody, restore her tie-breaking authority, and mandate that Martinez attend court-ordered therapy. In the documents, Berry alleged that Martinez’s personal frustrations often impact their son, claiming that his “continued attempts to align Maceo with him and against me” create unnecessary conflict and anger regarding private family matters.
