Michelle Williams and Eric Benét to Star in Lifetime’s ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ Anthology
Lifetime has become the go-to network for R&B artists and affiliates to thrive in television and film. The next two movies coming down the pipeline are tied to Bishop T.D. Jakes and his Seven Deadly Sins anthology series inspired by Victoria Christopher Murray’s books.
Michelle Williams and Tina Knowles-Lawson joined the cast of Wrath: A Seven Deadly Sins Story, out April 16 at 8 p.m. EST.
Believing that she’s found her knight in shining armor in Xavier Collins (played by Antonio Cupo), Chastity Jeffries (played by Williams), a single lawyer, learns that he’s more attached to her than she anticipated.
Unable to excuse his extreme anger and possessive nature any longer, Chastity turns to her mother Sarah (played by Knowles-Lawson) and her former childhood boyfriend, Roger Thompkins (Romeo Miller), to see her way out of the stormy romance. But, unfortunately, she’ll soon realize no one else can save her but herself.
Eric Benét is the central R&B attraction in Greed: A Seven Deadly Sins Story, debuting April 23 at 8 p.m. EST.
He plays sponsor and entrepreneur Godfrey Anderson who courts Zuri Maxwell (played by Monique Coleman), an interior decorator willing to leave everything behind, including her good man, artist Stephon Gardner (played by Nathan Witte), all for avarice.
Charmed by Anderson and his wealthy aunt Miss Viv (played by LisaRaye McCoy), Maxwell must decide if she wants to continue this destructive path in the name of greed.
The first two Seven Deadly Sins installments (Lust, Envy) debuted on the network last spring and starred Keri Hilson, Tank, LeToya Luckett, and Kandi Burruss, to name a few.
In other news, Williams is the host of her own praised iHeartRadio podcast, Checking In with Michelle Williams. She also debuted a memoir last year under a similar name.
Benét, who last released a self-titled album in 2016, recently partnered with Allblk to co-create a six-episode psychological thriller called Snap. Production begins this month, with plans for the series to air in December 2022.
