Lucky Daye Scores First Entry on Billboard Hot 100 Chart
Lucky Daye’s sophomore era continues to flourish. The singer-songwriter’s single “Over,” produced by D’Mile, enters the Billboard Hot 100 this week at No. 92. It’s Daye’s first entry on this coveted chart.
“Over,” which samples Musiq Soulchild’s classic “Halfcrazy,” is the lead single from Daye’s second album, Candydrip, out now via Keep Cool/RCA Records. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart.

Candydrip includes features from Chiiild (“Compassion”), Smino (“God Body”) and Lil Durk (“NWA”). The latter track, also produced by D’Mile, was released as the third single. (“Candy Drip” was the second song single.)
Daye is supporting his latest album on his Candydrip Tour with Joyce Wrice as a special guest. The tour will wrap up on April 25, at Terminal 5 in New York City.
Wrice is promoting her debut album, Overgrown, which dropped in 2021. Earlier this month, Wrice released her Kaytranada-assisted jam “Iced Tea.”
On May 28, Daye will perform at R&B Only Fest in Atlanta, Georgia. Erykah Badu and Miguel are headlining the one-day festival, which will include performances by dvsn, Muni Long, Lloyd and more.
Daye is nominated for two awards at the 2022 Grammys. His duets project Table For Two is up for Best Progressive Album and his Yebba-assisted “How Much Can A Heart Take” is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance.
