Lauren Jauregui Describes Origins of '50 Foot' Single
Lauren Jauregui isn’t resting on her “Lento.” The singer is following up her current bilingual hit with another new song, “50 Foot,” which she debuted last mont on an episode of Streets Talkin’s Live At-Home concert series. She gave fans a bit of insight into the origins of the song on Monday (April 13), when she explained that the sultry track with the chorus “Out of sight, out of mind/ I need you more than 50 feet away,” came from a very personal space.
“I wrote it from a space of reflection on how I interact with the world energetically and this artwork truly encapsulates the feeling of distance spoken about in the song while asserting the closeness of my relationship to my loved ones,” she wrote alongside a tweet with her mother and sister and a reminder that the track is out on Friday (April 17).
She shouted out her family in a third tweet, saying of her mom and sis, “who hold me the f–k down always and forever in the midst of it all. Another little piece of my heart is out Friday and I hope it resonates with you.” Jauregui recently told Streets Talkin that she’s hard at work on her debut album, saying “she’s still being tweaked… I’m in quarantine, so I’ve been piecing everything together.”
