Johnny Orlando unveiled the music video for his new single “See You” on Wednesday (April 15).

In the clip shot entirely on Zoom, the teen pop singer finds himself stuck in quarantine, connecting with friends and fellow social media influencers — including Tate McRae, Hrvy, Asher Angel and more — all thanks to the powers of technology.

“I don’t wanna talk about us/ I just wanna talk about how you been lately/ I don’t wanna get my hopes up/ Thinkin’ that we’ll ever be together someday, yeah/ I don’t need anything from you/ And I know it’s a little too soon/ But you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I loved once/ And I just wanna see you,” the 17-year-old croons on the hopeful chorus.

“‘See You’ is about reconnection. The song basically breaks down the whole process of spending everyday with someone, growing apart and moving on, and then somehow being brought back together,” Orlando tells Streets Talkin. “We definitely didn’t plan to release this song in self isolation, but it has kind of given the song a double meaning. Like everyone, I really miss my friends and just being able to see people in person every day.”

Orlando adds, “Throughout this time I’ve really been utilizing social media and video calling to connect with my friends and fans…the whole premise of the video is basically just me spending a day in quarantine, trying to connect with my friends because I just want to see them!”

The new song arrives on the heels of the rising star’s other 2020 single “Phobias” as well as his 2019 cover of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe.” Orlando’s major-label debut EP, Teenage Fever, was released in March 2019 Universal Music Canada.
