Glades' 'Vertigo': Exclusive
Australian trio Glades premiered their new single “Vertigo” on Tuesday (April 28), exclusively to Streets Talkin.
On the pop-driven track, frontwoman Karina Savage spins a sinister nursery rhyme about an unseen person getting caught in the web of a dangerous temptress. “Eenie miney mo/ Where’s she gonna go?/ You can never know/ Fallin’ like a domi- / No, not again/ Dizzy in your head/ There’s no antidote/ For this vertigo,” she sings before a creeping bass line kicks in beneath danceable production, crafted by multi-instrumentalists Joey Wenceslao and Cam Robertson.
“I really love this song so much,” Savage tells Streets Talkin. “It’s a warning to a friend who’s trying to pursue someone who’s emotionally unavailable and has a history of breaking hearts. Despite what’s going on in the world we still wanted to continue to share music. I’ve been dancing around the house to this song. For us creating and listening keeps us sane in isolation and we hope our art can bring you joy in this time, too.”
The track serves as a first taste of the Aussie outfit’s forthcoming sophomore album, Planetarium, which is set to be released sometime in late summer Wit Hustle/Warner Music Australia.
Glades’ debut studio set, To Love You, arrived in 2018 with standout singles “Do Right” and “Drive.”
