Chino XL Reportedly Dead at 50
Veteran rapper Chino XL has died at the age of 50.
The news of the rapper’s passing, whose real name Derek Emmanuel Barbosa, started to spread earlier on Monday on Twitter with unconfirmed reports. Fellow rapper A-F-R-O then took to his official X (formerly Twitter) page to confirm his longtime friend’s passing.
“RIP to CHINO XL… I’m gonna miss you, big bro 🕊️,” he wrote. “Damn… RIP to the legend Chino XL 🙏🏾,” wrote Joe Budden.

The cause of his death has not been revealed yet. Chino XL was a guest on Rakim’s album, G.O.D.’S NETWORK – REB7RTH which was released on July 25, mentioning that it was a dream come true for him.
