Cardi B is set to collect a portion of the $3.9 million she was awarded in her defamation case against YouTuber Tasha K. After a years-long legal battle, new court filings from February 21st confirm that Tasha has agreed to a structured repayment plan. Over the next five years, she will pay just under $1.2 million to the rapper, while the rest of the debt remains outstanding. In exchange, Cardi has agreed to drop her objections to Tasha’s bankruptcy filing.

As part of the settlement, Tasha is also prohibited from making any further defamatory remarks about Cardi. This marks a significant development in a case that has been ongoing since 2019, when Cardi first took legal action over harmful claims made in Tasha’s YouTube videos. These accusations included allegations about Cardi’s past as a stripper, her health, and her personal life, which a judge ruled were false and malicious.

Tasha had previously attempted to have the defamation debt erased through bankruptcy. However, Cardi challenged the filing, arguing that Tasha and her husband had deliberately tried to avoid payment. Tasha fired back, claiming Cardi was attempting to suppress her voice and damage her career by enforcing a broad non-disparagement clause.

Despite their courtroom battles, Cardi’s decision to withdraw her objections allows the payment plan to move forward. However, the majority of the judgment remains unpaid. Tasha will still be responsible for settling the remaining balance once her bankruptcy proceedings are complete.

While this agreement marks progress, it doesn’t fully close the chapter on their legal feud. Whether Tasha will be able to pay off the full amount remains to be seen. For now, Cardi is finally starting to see some of the money she’s owed.
