Bobby Shmurda Accuses Jay-Z and Roc Nation of Career Mismanagement
Bobby Shmurda rose to sudden fame with his breakout single ‘Hot N***a’ in 2014, but his meteoric ascent was abruptly halted later that same year when he and his associates were arrested on multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit murder.
The legal saga surrounding the Brooklyn rapper has remained a point of contention for years. Notably, Jay-Z referenced Bobby in his track ‘Bam’ from the 4:44 album, using the rapper’s legal troubles as a punchline. He rapped, “I’ll Bobby Shmurda anybody you heard of,” a line widely considered one of the most memorable bars on the project. However, the subject of that reference has now turned his attention toward the mogul, accusing both Jay-Z and his management firm, Roc Nation, of significant professional negligence.
In a recent social media post, Bobby Shmurda alleged that he was coerced into accepting a plea deal under pressure from his legal team. He further claimed that he attempted to voice these concerns to the presiding judge, only to be dismissed. “The judge said he didn’t care he was sending me and all my friends upstate and we can get it on appeal,” Shmurda stated.
