Ava Max, Bebe Rexha, Lewis Capaldi, And More Will Perform At The MTV EMA
The MTV EMA couldn’t boast a more exciting lineup of artists if you actually drew them — even when that literally includes Gorillaz. They’ll join Ava Max, Bebe Rexha, David Guetta, Lewis Capaldi, and Muse, who are all slated to hit the stage live for this year’s awards show on November 13.
Capaldi will deliver his first-ever performance for the ceremony. While Max, Rexha, Guetta, Gorillaz, and Muse are returning veteran performers, they have also garnered their share of nominations this year. Together for their house hit “I’m Good (Blue),” Rexha and Guetta are up against Max and Dutch DJ Tiësto’s “The Motto” for Best Collaboration. Meanwhile, Gorillaz have earned a nom for Best Alternative, and Muse secured one in Best Rock.
As announced earlier this week, the show will be co-hosted by Rita Ora and Taika Waititi.
Harry Styles leads this year’s EMA nominations field garnering seven nods, including Best Artist, Best Song, and Best Video. Taylor Swift follows behind with six noms, and she also earned one for Best Longform Video, a brand new category for the event. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj and Rosalía each earned five noms, with both competing for Best Song and Best Artist.
Styles, Swift, Rosalía, and German rapper Badmómzjay have also scored nominations for Best Local Act in their respective home regions.
Rexha previously hosted the 2016 EMA in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This year’s ceremony will be broadcasted live on MTV in more than 170 countries on November 13 from the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany. It will also be available to stream on Paramount+ and Pluto TV globally beginning November 14. The 2022 event will mark the sixth time Germany has hosted the awards.
