Alina Baraz and Galimatias’ Single ‘Make You Feel’ Certified Gold by RIAA
Alina Baraz and Galimatias have picked up a gold RIAA certification for “Make You Feel,” surpassing 500,000 equivalent units sold. It marks their second certified release together and the second from their 2015 project, Urban Flora.
Nearly five years ago, in July 2017, Baraz and Galimatias celebrated their first gold award for “Fantasy.”
Since then, Baraz has released other projects, including a pair of 2021 EPs: Sunbeam and Moongate. The standout on the former set was “Alone With You,” while the second one had “Change My Mind,” a production from Spencer Stewart.
The two, four-track projects came a year after Baraz released her debut album, It Was Divine. Features on the album included Nas, 6LACK, Smino, and Khalid.
After staying under the radar since the close of last year, Baraz will resurface at the Sol Blume Festival in Sacramento, California on April 30. PARTYNEXTDOOR and Summer Walker headline the two-day event. Tickets are on sale now.
In 2020, Galimatias released his debut album Renaissance Boy. He spoke to Rated R&B about his solo debut.
“I hope that anyone who listens will listen from start to finish,” Galimatias responded about his hopes for listeners with this album. “It’s a big ask in today’s digital age, where skip buttons and peripheral playlists suggest you to look around the corner at every moment. But this is very much constructed as one cohesive journey. I’ve put a lot of effort into tying all the songs together to make it as cinematic as possible.”
