Saweetie Teases New Song “Boffum” Ahead Of Australia Tour
Saweetie is entering a new era—and she’s doing it on her own terms. The rapper just unveiled a preview of her upcoming single, “boffum,” set to drop July 18. Produced by hitmaker J. White Did It, the track leans into bold energy, clever wordplay, and a nod to Young Buck’s early 2000s classic, “Shorty Wanna Ride.”
In the visual teaser, Saweetie struts in a white bikini and fur boots, confidently delivering bars that double down on her “why choose?” philosophy. “Want the head or the box? Both of ‘em / Bracelet or the watch? Both of ‘em / Kelly or the croc? Both of ‘em / My hair, nails? Both of ‘em / Lady or a pimp? Both of ‘em,” she raps with precision and flair.
“Boffum” is her first solo track of 2024 and arrives independently of any album or EP rollout—at least for now. Known for flipping iconic tracks into modern hits, Saweetie has built a reputation for putting her own stamp on nostalgic beats, like she did with “My Type” and “Tap In.”
Fans and fellow artists wasted no time hyping up the teaser. Kehlani dropped a playful, “She’s bAaAaAaaAaack!” while Tinashe chimed in with, “I’m ready.” Support also poured in from Lola Brooke, Tay Money, and Stunna Girl.
Although there’s no official album in sight just yet, Saweetie told Call Her Daddy earlier this year that her debut project will land in 2025. “I feel like I finally know myself,” she said. “I felt like I was constantly in this weird transition phase… like, ‘What am I even talking about?’”
Until then, fans can catch her live as she heads to Australia for a tour starting July 30 in Perth. All eyes are now on “boffum” as the countdown begins.
