6LACK doesn’t have time for naysayers. On his new song “Talkback,” produced by Scribz Riley and Yakob, 6LACK shrugs off negative energy on social media and shifts his focus to what matters to him.

“Heard ’em talkin’ down, that sh*t just roll off / That shit just roll off, I feel so top-tier / I hear ’em talk down but I do not care / I hear ’em talk down but I do not care,” he sings.

“Talback” isn’t just a middle finger to haters but also a call to action to go after your dreams: “You gotta want it on your own / I can’t convince you / I stopped makin’ excuses and speakin’ on things I don’t know / You should do the same, that should be your one goal,” 6LACK sings in the second verse.

“Talkback” is the follow-up to “Since I Have A Lover,” the title track to 6LACK’s third album; it’s set to release March 24 on LVRN/Interscope Records.

“‘Since I Have A Lover,’ the title track, is the highs of having a healthy love, compressed into song format. It’s a note to self, that I’m no longer who I was or where I was, and that there’s a bigger purpose starting to reveal itself in the things I create,” explained 6LACK. “We are simply pushing love because it’s needed. The verses are short and serve as a moment of acknowledgment for how I feel, and the chorus is less of a lyric and more of a feeling. It’s an exhale, it’s relief, it’s trust, it’s happiness, it’s surreal.”

The 19-track album will include 6LACK’s 2021 song “Rent Free.” It will also feature QUIN and Don Toliver.

Since I Have A Lover is the follow-up to 6LACK’s 2018 sophomore album, East Atlanta Love LetterThe gold-selling album featured the J. Cole-assisted hit “Pretty Little Fears,” which was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 61st Grammy Awards.
