2Pac’s Estate Threatens To Sue Drake & Says Kendrick Lamar Is A Friend To The Estate
In a letter obtained by Billboard, 2Pac’s estate has threatened to take legal action against Drake does not confirm he’ll pull down ‘Taylor Made Freestyle‘ in 24 hours.
The letter, litigator Howard King says that “The Estate is deeply dismayed and disappointed by your unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality. Not only is the record a flagrant violation of Tupac’s publicity and the estate’s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artist of all time.” It goes on to say that the late legend’s estate would have never given approval for the use of the A.I. in the song.
It seems that the fact that Pac’s voice was used to throw shots at Kendrick Lamar was an aggravating circumstance. The letter goes on to say that “the unauthorized, equally dismaying use of Tupac’s voice against Kendrick Lamar, a good friend to the Estate who has given nothing but respect to Tupac and his legacy publicly and privately, compounds the insult.
A rep for Drake declined to comment on the matter to Billboard.
