On Monday (Jan. 6), Dua Lipa got in on The Ellen DeGeneres Show's fun, pranking unsuspecting customers at World Market in Los Angeles by speaking only the lyrics to her songs.

First, the pop star ambushed a particularly shopper with "Don't Start Now," the lead single off her forthcoming sophomore LP Future Nostalgia. "I did a full 180, it was crazy," a disguised Lipa shared apropos of nothing, prompting the kindly woman to respond, "You did?" As the British star's lines got more and more absurd ("Did the heartbreak change me? Maybe. But look at where I ended up…"), her fellow conversationalist amusingly bought into the chat with supportive comebacks like "Looking good girl," and, "Well good for you girl, I love it."

Clad in a long auburn wig, Lipa was less successful using the opening lines of her smash 2018 collab with Calvin Harris, "One Kiss," to flirt with strangers. "Something in you lit up heaven in me," she said to a pair of older women while twirling the ends of her long auburn wig, leading one to stare blankly and respond with a flat, "Okay. Thanks for sharing."

Elsewhere in the store, the pop star made herself look slightly unhinged to one poor shopper by reciting the lyrics to "New Rules," while Ellen writer Lauren Pomerantz hilariously struck out time and again while loitering around the shop's coffee stand.

While no official release date has been set, Lipa's Future Nostalgia is expected to be released some time in early 2020.
