In preparation for “Atlanta’s” upcoming second season premiere, FX unleashes a brand new “Robbin’ Season” trailer.
The new clip for the award-winning series features Donald Glover back in the role Earnest “Earn” Marks. It also includes Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, portrayed by Bryan Tyree Henry, and Darius, played by Lakeith Stanfield.
“Robbin’ season,” says Darius. “Everybody gotta eat.” The reference is a nod to the season’s theme, which was recently explained by executive producer Stephen Glover, who happens to be Donald’s brother.
“It’s basically a bunch crime,” he explained. “People have money and people need money. You might get your package stolen f your front porch. It’s a very intense and desperate time. We wanted to make that a backdrop to the season. We wanted to make a transition from their old lives to where they’re heading now.”
Donald Glover, who recently declared himself “the new Tupac,” is currently crafting his final Childish Gambino project after signing a new deal with RCA. He is also working on a series film and television projects, including The Lion King, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and “Deadpool.”
“Atlanta: Robbin’ Season” premieres March 1 on FX.
