Teyana Taylor keeps winning in the music department. This time, it’s for “Gonna Love Me” from her 2018 album Keep That Same Energy (K.T.S.E.).

The hip-hop soul fan favorite has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, with over one million units sold. This marks the entertainer’s first single to receive a platinum award.

In 2019, Taylor’s “Gonna Love Me” became her first track to attain an RIAA certification. Since then, she has added two other gold plaques to her collection, including one for the King Combs-assisted track “How You Want It?” and another for the Kanye West-helmed “Issues/Hold On.”

Earning a platinum plaque is added icing on the cake for Taylor, who’s been making major moves since the top of the year. She recently grew The Aunties to a full-service company and launched a new PrettyLittleThing capsule collection of ‘90s fashion.

At the end of 2020, Taylor’s The Album was considered one of the top 30 R&B albums of the same year by Rated R&B.
