Tank and J. Valentine Launch New Podcast ‘R&B Money’
Tank and his manager J. Valentine are hosting a new podcast series, R&B Money, powered by iHeartMedia and Charlamagne tha God’s Black Effect Podcast Network.
The weekly podcast, named after his independent imprint in partnership with Atlantic Records, launched June 1. The first show features Oscar and Grammy winner Jamie Foxx.
Each episode will feature intriguing discussions between the two accomplished hosts and invited artists and executives. They’ll share their experiences in the music industry. It will also bring fans even closer to the world of R&B.
Tank has the authority to speak on everything concerning the genre. The self-proclaimed R&B general has worked as a songwriter and producer for many artists, including Aaliyah, Kelly Rowland, Omarion, Jennifer Hudson, Pleasure P and Foxx.
In Rated R&B’s inaugural installment of Board + Pen, Tank spoke about collaborating with the crooner mentioned above on “Overdose” from his Intuition album.
“I really wanted to create an open enough track to where you could hear him vocally where you didn’t need no backgrounds, no nothing. Just his lead vocal carrying the whole song, which he can do in his sleep,” he told Rated R&B.
J. Valentine’s resume is equally as prominent as a dedicated music figure. The former R&B singer served as executive producer on multiple Tank albums, most recently 2019’s Elevation.
He worked behind the scenes on albums by Ronald Isley, Keyshia Cole, Tyrese, LeToya Luckett, and Ginuwine.
J. Valentine secured a writing placement on the title track of *NSYNC’s blockbuster 2001 album Celebrity. He also lent his talents as a consultant for major labels such as Interscope and Motown Records.
In other news, Tank is gearing up for the release of his tenth and final album titled R&B Money. Its two singles — “I Deserve“ and “Can’t Let It Show“ — reached number one on the R&B charts. The album does not yet have a new release date. R&B Money was initially slated to arrive in early February.
Tank is scheduled to perform at a number of concerts this year. On June 18, he’s playing at D-Nice’s Club Quarantine Live in Miami. On July 23, he will perform at the Cincinnati Music Festival headlined by Janet Jackson.
During Labor Day weekend (Sep. 2-4) in Las Vegas, Nevada, Tank will do another multi-act show led by D-Nice. Jagged Edge, Amerie and El DeBarge are among the many stars slated to perform.
