T-Pain Files New Lawsuit Against Akon’s Label ‘Konvict Entertainment,’ Claims He’s Owed $489,000

One of the most influential figures of the 2000s, who famously revolutionized the use of autotune in modern music, T-Pain has officially filed a new lawsuit against Konvict Entertainment. The record label, which was co-founded by fellow industry icon Akon, now finds itself at the center of a significant financial dispute.

According to the legal filings, T-Pain alleges that he is owed $489,000 in unpaid royalties. The complaint suggests that Konvict Entertainment reportedly received $1.3 million in royalties generated from T-Pain’s catalog but failed to distribute the artist’s contractually obligated share.

Under the terms of his original recording agreement, T-Pain is entitled to 75% of the net royalties the label collects from its distributors.
