Stephen Curry Wins Second All-Star Game MVP, Leading Team OGs To Victory
In a new All-Star Game format taking place on Sunday (Feb. 16) at the Chase Center in San Francisco, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry led the Team OG’s to victory and won his second Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP.
In front of his home crowd, Curry poured in 12 points in Team OGs’ 41-25 victory Sunday over Team Global Stars. Team OGs was coached by Cleveland’s Kenny Atkinson with Shaquille O’Neal as their general manager. Team Global Stars was coached by Mark Daigneault and Charles Barkley was general manager.
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum finished it off with a dunk to hit the target score and bring his scoring total to 15 points.
In a post-game interview, Curry spoke about another incredible shooting display that he put on.
“It was one of those little flurries, just having fun,” Curry said. “The half-court shot, I was going to take one at some point. [Nikola] Jokic was picking me up at half court, which was hilarious.”

He also stated that the format showed progress for the weekend which has received criticism for the lack of competitive spirit over the last several years.
“I think it was a good step in the right direction to reinvigorate the game in some way,” Curry said. This year’s format divided the 12 Eastern Conference and 12 Western Conference All-Stars into teams of eight, going against a fourth team comprising eight first- and second-year players who won the Rising Stars game Friday night.
The hosting experience was unbelievable,” Curry said of the Warriors welcoming the All-Star events in both Oakland and San Francisco. “I’m not going to complain about being tired or exhausted. This is an honor and a blessing to be able to celebrate and share this beautiful Bay Area that’s been a part of my life for the last 16 years and the basketball history and culture that’s here and the amazing fans that are here and the impact that the game being here has had on both cities.”
On All-Star Saturday, Mac McClung made history by winning his third consecutive Slam Dunk Contest. Each of his dunks garnered the perfect score of 50. Tyler Herro won the 3-Point Contest, as Damian Lillard fell short of a three-peat.
In a busy weekend for Curry, the Curry Brand celebrated its 20th court refurbishment at McClymonds High School in Oakland, CA, the high school of NBA legend Bill Russell. The Curry Brand has renovated 20 courts, trained 15,000 coaches, and supported 125 programs to ultimately impact 300,000 kids around the world.
“Launching the Curry Brand officially in 2020, we set out to make an impact to ensure young athletes have what they need to dream big. Today, we are celebrating hitting this incredible milestone with this 20th Curry Court refurbishment at McClymonds High School—a place with a history unlike any other in Oakland,” Curry said. “We are thrilled to honor this school’s legacy and one of its most illustrious alumni today, Bill Russell. Bill wasn’t just a champion—he was a leader, a trailblazer, and someone who used his platform to fight for something bigger than basketball.”
