Rapsody & J. Cole Get Soulful On New Track 'Sojourner': Listen

Rapsody and J. Cole, two of the North Carolina's best, have paired up for the soulful monitor "Sojourner" in the present day (Oct. 26).

Slated to reside on Jamla Records' forthcoming compilation album Jamla Is the Squad II — which is out Nov. 9 — Rapsody and Cole flex their chemistry as a promising tandem over the soothing manufacturing of ninth Wonder.

From the onset, Cole's lyrical aerobics dictate the tempo, as he ruminates about his troubling beginnings. "Born into ache, alcoholic veins/ Over-analytical mind a product of the disgrace / And runnin' from a previous, that's checkered like the sport/ Somewhere 'lengthy the way in which someone snatched my peace and fundamental," he raps.

After breezing by the refrain, Cole passes the baton to a fervent Rapsody, who manages to namedrop Meek Mill, Swae Lee and Aalyiah throughout her poignant verse. "The day that we expire, Carolina's the place they'll lay us/ I awoke feelin' like Aaliyah, yeah, 1,000,000 and one bucks," she cleverly brags.

Take a hearken to "Sojouner" beneath.
