Plies Calls TikTok Ban ‘BullSh*t,” Claims It’ll Be Restored After Trump’s Inaguration
According to Plies, the TikTok ban was never intended to last, just to make President-elect, Donald Trump look good. On Sunday (Jan.19), Plies took to his X account to share his frustration with fans. In his opinion, the decision was never about “privacy,” but just a ploy to make Trump appear as the savior. “Dear Tik Tok Y’all Ain’t Fooling Nobody With This Bullsh*t Azz Shutdown! Y’all Caught Up In The Circus Too, U Trolling Now Like Everybody Else,” he wrote in the post. “Y’all Will Be Back Up After The Inauguration! Gotta Make It Look Heroic! Y’all Know What He Want Give Him A Check He’ll Let Y’all Slide!”
On Friday (Jan.17), the US Supreme Court upheld its decision to ban TikTok’s parent company ByteDance. The social media platform will either cease operations in the US or find a new owner. Around late Saturday evening, US-based app users who tried to access the app were met with a message: “Sorry, TikTok isn’t available right now. A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now.”

The message continues: “We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned!” However, just mere hours after the app officially shut down its services, things are slowly back up and running.
The media platform made a statement on its official X account writing, “In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service,” the post began. Later, the company thanked President Trump for “providing the necessary clarity and assurance.” The post continued: “It’s a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”
