Normani’s ‘Wild Side’ Reaches No. 1 on Urban Radio

Normani has claimed her first number-one single on urban radio with “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B, surpassing more than 21 million listener impressions. She earned her inaugural top ten success on this radio format back in September.

“Wild Side” achieved gold status last month, making it her second solo certified single (“Motivation”) and third overall (“Love Lies” with Sam Smith). The track, at this moment on Spotify, has been played more than 54.6 million times. 

Not much is known about Normani’s anticipated solo debut album slated for release on Keep Cool/RCA Records. She had studio sessions with The-Dream earlier this year. Meanwhile, Fallon King and Felisha King-Harvey of Cherish told Rated R&B in August that they were entering the lab with Normani this fall.  

In other news, “Wild Side” is nominated for Best Dance Performance and Video of the Year at the 2021 Soul Train Awards. The ceremony airs on Sunday, Nov. 28, at 8 p.m. EST on BET and BET Her.
