For the first time, Lucky Daye is on the Recording Industry Association of America’s honor list. â€œRoll Some Mo,” the breakout lead single from his Grammy-nominated debut album Painted, has been certified gold. This shining certification level was reached for the D’Mile-produced song surpassing more than 500,000 in equivalent digital units.

The ganja-blowing serenade first appeared on Daye’s 2018 EP I. It arrived with a stoner-inspired visual. With aid from Ella Mai’s The Debut Tour and one-off bonus performances, the song garnered R&B radio airplay, making it his first top 10 on the format in March 2019.

Combining all other well-deserved praise and recognition for Daye and “Roll Some Mo,” including a 2020 Best R&B Performance nomination, the song has earned 42.4 million streams and counting on Spotify.

Rated R&B just caught up with recent Oscar winner D’Mile, who was instrumental in the production of Daye’s solo introduction. D’Mile discussed how each of them was at the end of their ropes regarding pursuing music and how they discovered a creative freedom within each other. Read the full interview here

These days, Daye is on the promo trail for his latest project, Table for Two. Yebba joined him on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week to perform their duet “How Much Can A Heart Take.”
