The landscape of hip-hop media continues to evolve as another legendary artist makes a significant pivot into the podcasting world. Following in the footsteps of peers like T.I., Lil Yachty, and Drake, rap icon Lil Wayne has officially announced his entry into the space. He is joining forces with radio hall of famer Craig Carton to launch a brand-new podcast, The Joint Venture Show.

Set to premiere on July 22, the show’s title serves as a classic double entendre, a hallmark of Lil Wayne’s lyrical career. The rapper confirmed his excitement for the project, stating, “Ima light one up with the homie Craig and we gonna talk our shit about whatever the day brings. You never know who’s gonna pull up or where the conversation’s gonna go.”

A New Platform for Candid Conversation

According to official press materials, The Joint Venture Show will focus on a blend of music, sports, and pop culture. The format is designed to facilitate “blunt” conversations, leaning into the chemistry between the two hosts. Produced by Magilla Entertainment, the series will be released on a weekly basis and will be available across all major podcasting platforms, as well as on YouTube.

Beyond the standard weekly episodes, the show promises a unique interactive element by featuring special guests. The launch festivities are already underway, with a special episode filmed in front of a live audience on July 19 at Fanatics Fest. This inaugural live recording features high-profile guests including Eli Manning, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Darrelle Revis, setting a high bar for the caliber of discussions listeners can expect moving forward.
