Lil Nas X Speaks Out After Being Arrested: ‘That Was Terrifying’
Lil Nas X says his run in with the law was “terrifying.”
As previously reported Lil Nas X is faced some serious legal trouble after being charged with four felonies stemming from a bizarre incident in Los Angeles last week.
According to court filings, the Grammy-winning artist, born Montero Lamar Hill, has been charged with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. The charges were announced following an incident that occurred on August 21, 2025, along Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley.
Authorities say Lil Nas X was spotted walking down the busy street wearing only underwear and cowboy boots, at one point balancing a bright orange traffic cone on his head. Witnesses described his behavior as erratic, prompting multiple calls to law enforcement.
Following his release, Nas shared a statement via his Instagram story. He says although the past four days have been frightening, he ensures fans that, “your girl is going to be alright.”
His father, Robert Stafford, spoke to TMZ and asked the public to support his son. “He’s great. God is good, God has a plan,” Stafford explained. “I think you all know everything that you need to know about what happened Thursday.” When asked if drugs played a role, he responded, “absolutely not.”
Stafford continued, “He’s in good spirits,” he shared. “He’s very remorseful for what happened, but you know, it can happen to any family. He’s gonna get the help that he needs, and just keep him in your prayers.”
