Lady Gaga to "Channel Kindness" With Anthology Book
Lady Gaga has gathered together a collection of inspirational stories written by young people into a new anthology book entitled Channel Kindness: Stories of Kindness and Community, due out on Sept. 22. “The stories in Channel Kindness include a young writer who discovered the power of self-love after being bullied at school, someone who started a movement to lift the stigma around mental health, and another who created safe spaces for LGBTQ youth,” reads a statement announcing the book, which also promises “personal notes of empowerment” from the “Stupid Love” singer.
The book is being released in conjunction with Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation and is available for pre-order on Amazon here. “Within these pages, you’ll meet young changemakers who found their inner strength, prevailed in the face of bullies, started their own social movements, and decided to break through the mental health stigma,” reads the announcement. “These storytellers share how they felt, created safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth, and embraced kindness with every fiber of their being by helping others without the expectation of anything in return.”
The authors are contributors to the Born This Way Foundation’s Channel Kindness program, which seeks to “uplift youth voices by providing a storytelling platform for first-person accounts of everyday acts of bravery and kindness.” Gaga’s “Stupid Love” recently blasted into a No. 5 debut on the Streets Talkin Hot 100 chart, marking her first top 10 bow on the chart since “Applause” came in at NO. 6 in 2013.
