Kem’s ‘Love Always Wins’ Leads Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart

Kem was right: Love Always Wins. The R&B veteran has returned to the number one spot on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart with his newest album. It’s his second overall on the same chart, followed by Promise to Love in 2014.

The success of Kem’s Love Always Wins benefits from the chart-topping single “Lie to Me.” It dominated the pole position on the Adult R&B Airplay chart for seven weeks, earning the Grammy-nominated crooner his sixth chart-leader.

Love Always Wins also includes the buttery duet “Live Out Your Love” featuring Toni Braxton.

“Toni called me up to the stage and we had a musical moment,” Kem shared with Rated R&B on how the collaboration came to be. “From that moment on, the seed was planted for me to seek her out for a collaboration and ‘Live Out Your Love’ was the perfect song for that. Of course, Toni makes everything sound good (laughs).”

Speaking on his album, Kem said to Rated R&B, “Love is the most important thing. There is good in the world. That good is love and without it, there’s only darkness. I feel that everything is in divine order and this is the perfect season for this album.”
