Almost as if out the blue, Ye (FKA Kanye West) decided to release the sequel to Donda on streaming platforms. Yes, Donda 2 is officially here — albeit under a different artist profile also called Donda. The album was previously only available via Ye’s Stem Player, which aimed to give more autonomy to listeners in terms of the layers they’d want to listen to on any given track.

The project itself comprises 18 tracks, beginning with ‘True Love’ (featuring XXXTentacion) and ending with ‘First Time,’ making the album feel like a diverse sonic journey. But what’s better is that Kanye seemed to be listening to the fans as he rushed his team to complete the project.

It all began with Digital Nas (with a backup account) asking fans on X about Donda 2 track list and what tracks should be on it, and later revealing that the album will indeed be released today under a different artist name.

One could see him asking questions confirming the presence of drums and other elements on tracks as Kanye and team worked frantically to sort out the release intricacies. Ye also hinted at wanting to drop one album “every month or so,” showcasing his musical preparedness in midst of constant controversy.

The release was also supplemented by a livestream by Digital Nas on Kick, who even had to postpone streaming activities so that internet issues do not end up delaying the album work. Guess it all really paid off! Check out the project below!
