Jam & Lewis Announce New Single Featuring Mariah Carey
Just when it didn’t seem possible for Jam & Lewis to top their recent collaboration with Babyface, the duo has announced they’ve teamed up with Mariah Carey for their upcoming single “Somewhat Loved.†The track will arrive on Thursday, June 10, and will appear on their forthcoming debut album Jam & Lewis Volume One, due out sometime this summer.
Jam & Lewis is proud to have Carey a part of their much-anticipated album, considering that she was on their list of artists to collaborate with this time around. “The chance to reunite with our friend and fellow Songwriters Hall Of Fame partner Mariah was wishlist fulfillment at its finest,†said Jam & Lewis in a press release.
The songbird supreme is equally as ecstatic about joining forces with the illustrious dream team. “Working with Jimmy & Terry through the years has been one of the greatest creative journeys I’ve ever taken. It’s a great honor for me to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime album,†added Carey.
Carey and Jam & Lewis previously worked together in the past, co-writing Carey’s hit single “Thank God I Found You†featuring Joe and 98 Degrees. The song, taken from Carey’s 1999 Rainbow album, spent one week at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 2000.
In a related note, Jam & Lewis’ Babyface-assisted track “He Don’t Know Nothin’ Bout It†remains a top-five smash on R&B radio and the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart.
At the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, Jam & Lewis celebrated 30 years of “Optimistic†with a performance from Sounds of Blackness and Ann Nesby. Watch it here.
Carey recently received the 2021 Special Achievement Innovator Award from the African American Film Critics Association.
