Gunna continues to receive strong public support from an unexpected source, Young Thug’s father, Jeffrey Williams Sr. Even as debates over alleged snitching in the YSL RICO case persist and the internet remains split on Gunna’s role, Williams Sr. has repeatedly chosen to show him love. He has made his stance clear not through statements, but through consistent, visible support, appearing alongside Gunna at major moments and refusing to distance himself despite the ongoing accusations.

Most recently, Williams Sr. attended Gunna’s sold-out show in Atlanta, a moment captured in photos. His appearance at the concert marks yet another instance where he has stepped out in support of the rapper, despite the ongoing accusations that Gunna cooperated with authorities following the 2022 YSL indictment. Those claims began circulating after Gunna accepted a plea deal and was released, while Young Thug remained in custody until last October.

Even as the accusations intensified, Williams Sr. defended Gunna early on. During a 2023 interview, he publicly stated that Gunna did nothing to damage his son’s case. His support continued into 2024, when he made a cameo in Gunna’s “One Of Wun” music video and later attended another of his Atlanta shows, where he was seen enjoying himself in the crowd.

Meanwhile, Young Thug has expressed his own feelings about their strained friendship. Speaking on the Its Up There podcast, he said, “I think I’m just in the unpacking phase,” explaining that their relationship shifted permanently after their arrests. “We can get a trillion dollars together. I’m still not gonna be able to look at you the way I looked at you before we went to jail. We love each other, we’re just going our own ways. Sometimes you do that.”

Despite that distance, Thug’s father has continued to show love to Gunna, standing beside him publicly while much of the internet debates the case.
