Produced by Cash Cobain, the track finds DDG pleading for access to his son. “Don’t take my son because he’s all I got / I’m just having fun, I don’t love these thots,” he raps, blending vulnerability with defiance.
In another verse, he suggests Bailey hasn’t moved on and expresses frustration over money influencing his time with Halo. “Tryna make me pay to see my son, that’s gonna make me hot,” he laments, later adding, “It’s not about the money, it’s more about the principle, you know I’m rich.”
DDG expanded on his grievances in a vlog, revealing he gets only “very minimal time” with Halo. He also claimed he was recently forced to leave Bailey’s home during a visit. In a follow-up video, he shared his deeper concerns. “I just don’t want it to come to the point where he’s like, ‘my pops ain’t around,’ and that’s my main thing.”
Despite his frustrations, DDG insisted he wants to avoid legal action. Calling the court process “extremely messy,” he made it clear he hopes to resolve the situation without escalating the conflict.
DDG and Halle Bailey began dating in early 2022, making their relationship public after being spotted together at an Usher concert. Their romance quickly became a topic of interest, with DDG frequently expressing his admiration for Bailey on social media.
In December 2023, they welcomed their son, Halo. However, by early 2024, rumors of their breakup surfaced, and DDG later confirmed their split. Their co-parenting situation soon turned contentious, with DDG accusing Bailey of limiting his access to their child.
The tension escalated when he released a diss track addressing their custody battle, further fueling public speculation.
