Nearly three years after releasing her last album, Beauty Marks, and a few standalone singles, Ciara confirmed her next album is coming down the pike.

At a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit launch event celebrating her stunning cover, the multi-talented entertainer revealed the status of her upcoming eighth studio effort.

“I’m actually finished with my album, which I’m really excited about,” she told Associated Press.

There aren’t many details available at this time about Ciara’s upcoming album, but she did confirm that she has filmed the first music video.

Legendary songwriter Diane Warren apparently wrote an unreleased track in the summer of 2019. She shared a few details with Rated R&B in an exclusive interview. “It’s not a ballad,” she hinted

What can be guaranteed is that both the single and album will be issued under Ciara’s Beauty Marks Entertainment imprint.

Launched in February 2019, the independent label has generated positive press and accolades for Ciara, one of which is for the Beauty Marks single “Level Up.” The upbeat tune was certified platinum in July 2019, one year after its release.

Before the birth of her third child, Ciara released the Ester Dean-assisted “Rooted.” A year after, she started a clothing brand called LITA by Ciara.

She continued to balance motherhood with other endeavors, including writing the children’s book Why Not You? with her husband Russell Wilson, as well as a few hosting gigs

Ciara will star in the upcoming musical film, The Color Purple, as the adult Nettie. Directed by Blitz Bazawule, the star-studded movie will also feature Fantasia (Celie), Halle Bailey (young Nettie), and H.E.R. (Squeak), among others.
