Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson are in the running for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture at the 79th Annual Golden Globe Awards, which will be held at a non televised event on Jan. 9, 2022.

Hudson, who gained buzz for starring as Aretha Franklin in the 2021 biopic Respect, garnered a nod for her work on “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home).”

She co-wrote the gospel-fueled tune alongside the renowned Carole King and Jamie Hartman.

This marks Hudson’s first time receiving a Golden Globe nomination in a music category.

In 2007, she won Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role as Effie White in Dreamgirls

“Be Alive,” the central track from the King Richard soundtrack, earned Beyoncé her fourth recognition for Best Original Song.

She shares this nomination with Dixson, one of Rated R&B’s Front + Center artists, who co-wrote and co-produced the anthem.

Beyoncé’s previous music-oriented nominations include “Spirit” (The Lion King), “Once in a Lifetime” (Cadillac Records), and “Listen” (Dreamgirls).
