Andre 3000 Celebrates Trans People As Part Of Project ‘TRANSA’, Releases New Music Video: Watch
Andre 3000 is truly a generational artist, and has proved it yet again in a meaningful way by contributing to a project designed to celebrate trans people.
How? Well, last year, the non profit better known as Red Hot enlisted top artists the likes of Sam Smith, Sade, Andre 3000 and around 100 artists in total to create TRANSA — a 3.5 hour exploration of identity via music. To that end, Andre 3000’s contribution was a sonic one; now, he returns with a 26-minute music video to back it up!
Inspired by Édouard Glissant’s ‘Poetic Intention’ and the opaque aesthetics of fifth generation console games, Andre has put together a piece of art that explores what it’s like to “be born into the world…to conceive the world as a relation…as a poetics of alterity,” as expressed in a note to the press.
