Cardi B Plans to Leave a Lasting Legacy for Her Children

Rap superstar Cardi B is thinking about her legacy beyond the music she leaves behind. The rapper recently opened up about motherhood, wealth, and entrepreneurship during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, emphasizing her goal to build tangible assets that will benefit her four children long after she is gone.

“I was panicking,” Cardi admitted. “It’s like, yo, I leave this earth and my kids are going to have just music royalties.”

Building a Generational Empire

The “Am I the Drama?” artist explained that while her children could inherit royalties, properties, and liquid assets, she felt a responsibility to create something they could call their own. Cardi pointed to her haircare company, Grow Good, as a primary example of this effort. “What is something that, God forbid, something happens to me, I leave behind that is for them?” she asked, noting that the business is intended to be a foundational piece of their inheritance.

For Cardi, motherhood has become deeply intertwined with her career trajectory. She welcomed her first child, Kulture, with Offset in 2018, followed by her son Wave and daughter Blossom. She later welcomed her fourth child with NFL player Stefon Diggs in 2025. Balancing these responsibilities with her public persona remains a priority.

Maintaining Identity Through Motherhood

Despite her focus on the future, Cardi B remains firm that motherhood has not altered her signature style. “Motherhood has not changed my style, honey,” she stated during a recent interview with E! News. “They haven’t changed me for s–t.”

However, she is finding ways to turn everyday moments into life lessons. She joked about her daughter Kulture frequently raiding her closet, noting that she is beginning to use these moments to teach responsibility. “Maybe that’s what I’m going to start teaching her,” Cardi said. “If you want to play in my closet, you got to clean.” By blending these personal lessons with strategic financial planning, the artist is ensuring her children are prepared for the future while maintaining the bold personality that made her a global icon.
