Spotify has officially announced the launch of Fresh Finds Forward, a comprehensive new initiative designed to empower approximately 10,000 emerging independent artists. This program marks a significant expansion of the platform’s existing support systems, moving beyond simple playlist placement to provide tangible resources that foster long-term career growth.

For over a decade, Spotify’s global team of music editors has curated the Fresh Finds playlists, which have been instrumental in helping more than 80,000 musicians from 127 countries gain visibility during critical stages of their development. Notable alumni of these playlists include artists such as Laufey, Clairo, ROLE MODEL, Ethel Cain, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Royel Otis, and Omar Apollo.

Comprehensive Support for Independent Talent

The Fresh Finds Forward program is structured to provide participating artists with a 12-month suite of benefits. These resources are specifically curated to address the multifaceted needs of modern independent musicians, including:

  • Free studio time
  • Early access to select Spotify tools and features
  • Exclusive programming and community networking
  • Prioritized access to tour or music video partnerships
  • Premium access to digital production tools like LANDR and Splice
  • Mental health and wellness resources

Starting January 1, 2026, artists who are added to any global Fresh Finds playlist will be invited to join the program via their Spotify for Artists dashboard. Once onboarded, they will have access to these benefits for a full year.

A Commitment to Long-Term Growth

Joe Hadley, Spotify’s Global Head of Music Content and Partnerships, emphasized that the program is the result of years of direct feedback from the independent music community. “Fresh Finds Forward takes everything we’ve learned from a decade of discovery and builds a support system around it,” Hadley stated. “Participating artists aren’t just getting a playlist placement; they’re getting the benefits, resources, and the community to make the most of that moment.”

For artists looking to be considered for the Fresh Finds ecosystem, Spotify continues to recommend that creators pitch their upcoming releases directly through the Spotify for Artists portal to ensure their music reaches the editorial team.
