A$AP Rocky’s legal journey is far from over. Despite being cleared of criminal charges earlier this year, the rapper now faces a civil lawsuit. The lawsuit is brought by his former associate, ASAP Relli, who alleges that Rocky fired a gun at him during a 2022 confrontation in Los Angeles. The trial is scheduled to begin on January 12, 2026. This sets the stage for another high-profile courtroom showdown.

Earlier this year, a jury found Rocky not guilty on two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm. This decision spared him a potential 24-year prison sentence. The artist, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, thanked the court after the verdict. He said, “Thank y’all for saving my life,” as he expressed relief and gratitude toward the judge and jurors who heard his case.

Even with the criminal case behind him, the legal battle continues. Relli, who initially represented himself, has since retained attorneys Aaron Morris and Andrew Robertson. They aim to press forward with his civil claim. According to recent court discussions, the pair are “working diligently” to prepare for trial. This signals that neither side intends to back down.

Rocky’s attorney, Wogai Mohmand, confirmed that no settlement offers have been made by Relli’s team. As a result, the court has urged both parties to explore mediation before the trial date. During an October 14 hearing, Judge William F. Fahey directed both sides to engage in private negotiations by December 10 in hopes of reaching a resolution.

“We have a firm trial date about two months away. We’re going to try to settle this case,” Judge Fahey told the courtroom, underscoring the urgency surrounding the proceedings.

As the next phase of litigation approaches, attention will again turn to A$AP Rocky. It is a reminder of how fame and legal battles often collide under the glare of public scrutiny.
