Jay-Z and Beyoncé are reportedly preparing to make England their new getaway destination. After years of building a portfolio of extravagant homes in the United States, the couple is said to be exploring a quieter lifestyle overseas. According to The Mirror, the decision comes after the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles made them consider building roots elsewhere. A close friend explained, “The wildfires have given them a good reason to look outside of Los Angeles to build new bases. They will always be based in LA, but the UK is on the agenda. Beyoncé loves the UK because they support everything she does.”

Their interest in the United Kingdom has been ongoing for months. Over the summer, while Beyoncé performed in London, insiders revealed that she and Jay-Z toured a 58-acre property in Oxfordshire’s Cotswolds region. By August 25, reports suggested the land was no longer available, pointing to the possibility that the pair had already secured it. The area is popular with celebrities who prefer privacy and charm over city chaos, making it an appealing choice for the Carters.

Sketches of the project describe it as a modern country retreat. Plans highlight a “spectacular rural estate” featuring “seamless indoor-outdoor living, combining timeless materials with contemporary architecture.” The design is also said to prioritize sustainability while blending with the surrounding landscape. The property will reportedly include woodlands and even a lake, offering the family a calm and secluded environment.

The location places them close to other famous names, including Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Simon Cowell, and the Beckham family. It also keeps them within reach of popular hotspots such as Soho Farmhouse and Daylesford Organic.

This potential purchase comes just over a year after they bought a 30,000-square-foot Malibu mansion for $200 million, which was the most expensive home ever sold in California at the time.
